Application of water-cooled direct-expansion air conditioning unit and water-cooled VRF combination system to subway stations

Taking a practical project as an example, a new air conditioning design scheme for the subway is proposed, in which the water-cooled direct-expansion air conditioning unit and the water-cooled VRF system are used to replace water chillers. The combination system is compared with the traditional air conditioning system in the initial investment and the operation energy consumption. The result shows that the combination system has an initial investment increase of about 42.5% and saves energy by about 27.9% compared with the traditional system.
